TSA Stealing iPads at DFW

Oh, I hear ya. But if it's a soft case, it has to have a TSA lock to lock it, which they can open. If it's a hard case to secure a firearm, you can put any dang lock on there you want. Just one more thing to prevent a theft.

Bingo. If it is the hard case that contains a firearm, they are not allowed to have the ability to open it.Originally posted by GhostTX View PostNot by law, they can't. Now, they can call you and make you open it while you watch them go through it. But they can't open it themselves.

Yeah and by law they can't steal iPads and other things.Originally posted by GhostTX View PostNot by law, they can't. Now, they can call you and make you open it while you watch them go through it. But they can't open it themselves.
Although, for whatever reason it does feel better to put a case on a plane with multiple locks, with more than one key. Don't know if it really is more secure from those thieves, but it feels better.

obviously its stupid to check expensive items but everyone here lately is blaming the person and not the thief....Originally posted by Cooter View PostI'm pretty sure nobody has been put on trial because somebody stole their shit

because some things can be deceivingOriginally posted by lo3oz View Postwhy open it if you have xray available?
im sure they could find a way if they wanted to open it.Originally posted by GhostTX View PostIt doesn't have to be a hard gun case. Just a hard case within a certain definition (lock locations, hinges, etc). There's some guy out there that uses 80mm ammo boxes as his travel luggage.
i just dont think some one should be put on trial cause some sone stole their shitOriginally posted by Cooter View Postdoesn't surprise me. and im yes, I'm blaming the person as well as the thief.
idealism isn't some magical forcefield that protects you from the reality that SMF's are going to steal your shit if you give them the opportunity to...
cut a finger or hand off, and I bet he'd think twie also, but that's not the REALITY we live in, is it?
enjoy the ice age of slow traveling . in my line of work commerical airlines are a necessary evilOriginally posted by jefehbk View Posti will never use airlines as a mean of travel as long as the TSA is in existence. if I can not get there by plane, train, or automobile then I do not need to go. FTTSA and their Nazi regime. This is part of the governments New World Order.

IF you wanted to, you could get your whole suitcase as a hard case, pack it up as a normal suitcase then throw your gun in there naked (no case), and lock it with a non-TSA lock. With a gun in there, it falls under the hard case rules and then your whole suitcase is now TSA-proof.

Is it me, or is in a lot of ways the TSA totally redundant to the existing police forces we have and just general private security that some establishments should have anyway?
