not true. i can't see if the person has insurance on my computer...

i can ask dispatch but that doesn't always work half the time it says to verify manually.

I tried that when I was younger. I was quickly corrected..."I'm a lieutenant!!!" Then was cuffed and arrested after his partner promised me I would get nothing but a ticket. Nowadays I just keep my mouth shut and expect a ticket.

I don't know why they ask you questions when they can get the answer from their computer. Last time I was stopped, the cop asked me if I had any tickets or arrests. I told him to check his computer.
Hmmm, thats gunna get you far! It was the Officer seeing how forthcoming and honest you are. Believe it or not, honesty and good additude gets you far in violator contacts. At least with me it does.

I'm sure that this has been mentioned, but it's not like it's a city specific law. It's at least state-wide. How would they feel if they got hit by somebody with no insurance having to go through the courts, spending money on a lawyer to sue the person for property damage and medical bills?

It's like telling a thief why stealing is wrong.

I don't usually pull the keys out, but other than that I totally agree. Best case you get a little res[ect from a good cop, and worst case you don't give a "bad" cop any reason to harass or write more tickets.

Lies. All cops are out for revenue, and to inconvenience the public.

The big issue: my card was expired, I was not listed as lapsed, and I pulled the new card up on my laptop, but had no way to print it. I was showing proof, but it wasnt printed on paper.

In the end, I was releace with a ticket, and I got it dismissed. They still wanted a court fee and processing, but I was able to get that waived. How much proof is justified?

It's really simple and it really works.
