    fwiw i spent 5-8th grade in newport beach.. during the winters we would go night surfing.. drink beer & smoke pots with a bonfire on the beach (we were 12, lol) and crash out, surf again in the morning, load up in my friends moms 4runner by noon and be in the san bernadino mountains by early afternoon. lunch, and then on the slopes for a quick night session, followed by more beers and a bonfire. the next day would be early snow, load up by 6 and be home saturday night for another surf session before crashing out and being back at home sunday..
