That is not the problem. There are priorities. Soldier education is more important than Obama phones IMO.

All it says is we have to pay for a army. It doesn't say a damn thing about what gets paid for. Tuition program? Not in there. VA? Not in there. commissary/PX? Not in there. Nothing is in there except pay for a army which means wages, housing, and equipment. All the extras that you think are your constitutional right? Not in there. There is plenty to cut, You just suffer from not in my house syndrome like has been talked about earlier in the thread.

Of course fucking defense needs assloads of cuts. But no one on here seems particularly willing to. And if they are they qualify it with "Well you have to cut WELFARE (note the ambiguity) before you can touch American's big dick, even if there is waste in the defense system."

It's like watching fucking 3rd graders negotiate.
Things that should be cut before a dime is cut from the military:

National Endowment for the Arts: If it's art, someone will buy it. You don't need tax dollars

National Wild Horse and Burro Program: I think this is self explainatory

Marines also. I was checking out for my PCS move to California and was told it was cut. No one gave a shit. More people were upset about the new order for rolled down sleeves year round than about TA.

We're so hard up for money that we're having a hard time getting parts for our planes unless it's a hard downer. They're about to cut any and all training unless it's directly related to a deployment.

Here in AIT, the cadre are preparing to get their licenses to operate the buses. The civilian employees are being cut. Plus, now if you need to go to the hospital (as an let soldier) they are going to be taking you in a HMMWV wearing full kit.

95- are you currently stationed at Carson?

The military has been hit extremely hard with budget cuts recently, so how about we trim the fat on some other expenses?
