Ill probably retire in Arlington. All my friends are in DFw, it's central to downtown Fort Worth and Dallas. Doesn't bother me at all. I'm exactly where I want to be. Been here 28 years this month.

After living in Desoto for 18 years (leaving in '02), it's only natural to defend the town you live in. However, once you leave the area, there's no denying it was a shit-hole. It's different being outside looking in.

Lol @ Irving is worse. Crime is WAY down in Irving. Our office has been broken in to a few times, only once did they take anything. Outside of that, and one house in my neighborhood, I've never had any issues.

Irving is definitely worse than Arlington. Both have good and bad parts, but overall, Irving takes the win.

I don't agree. I think a lot of long term residents feel this way because they compare it to the days before the Parks Mall when Cooper was just farm houses and a couple of businesses. It certainly isn't as nice as it used to be, but it also doesn't have a population of 100k any more. Have you been in Irving lately?

And there were six murders in Grapevine on Christmas Day in 2011. What's your point? It's getting hot outside, people are going to start getting killed. I'm already seeing ridiculous short tempers coming in my store. It happens every summer. Arlington is a completely average middle class town. If that's your definition of ghetto, your place must have floor to ceiling cow skin rugs.

I think some of the criminal element from Grand Prairie has made it's way West. You know it's great when the police put up signs warning that you are in a high crime area and to be cautious. As long as it all stops and Forest Hill and stays out of Fort Worth I'm good.
