    My wife did that shit all the time in our Escape. I finally put a keypaid on it, problem solved.

    It automatically locks 10 seconds after you push the ignition button, and stays locked until you grab the handle to get out. There's a button on the dash to lock/unlock for a passenger as well. I never have to take my keys out of my pocket, one of those "gimmicks" that I've really come to prefer having.

    I'm only half kidding when I say that the car is smarter than I am.

    I've tried to lock my keys in the trunk, but fortunately the keyless access knows the fob is in there, and won't lock. Same with the cabin.

    You can add aftermarket keypad entry also. Or...add the phone control and you can operate it from the moon.

    Keyless entry has helped out a lot with that.
    I don't know how she is doing it. I have never done it on the truck she is driving.
