What is there to do? She wasnt maliciously keeping her citizenship status secrete and lying about it under oath, she just found out herself. Her parents lied to her. Guess what, that shit happens. I cant count how many times my mother lied, even under oath. Just because you reproduce doesnt mean you are now a good wholesome person. I think her parents had good intentions, though. And this officer had an exemplary record, so lets not assume she was out shooting dogs and tazing babies. She resigned, she will have to get a greencard and get legal. Hell, I hope she can get her citizenship squared away and her job back.

I'm not close minded per se, but hell it seems like a catch 22. It seems sometimes that doing too many justice system tasks against illegals is a waste of time. Then again, I think it's bad practice to just turn a blind eye to it.

Another thing we need to keep in mind is just how many hours/dollars are into training her up to this point too.

I get the sympathetic side, but I also feel like it's not a good practice to just let things go. We would never be just let go for whatever crime we committed out of ignorance either. That's why I'm really interested in what - if any - compromise there would be for this to be straightened out.

Okay, since her parents are the dirt bags, deport them immediately and then offer her an expedited path to a green card, not citizenship. You drop the hammer on the ones who started the crime and then you give her a lesser sentence for her helping and continuing to commit the crime, even if it was in ignorance.

She's a criminal, STILL engaging in criminal activities as I write this. Pretty sure any other criminal would have been arrested and the "I'm a cop/veteran/active duty" while violating federal law tends not to make it better.
