Meh. I got my car back when they said I'd have it back and it was nicer than before it got hit. They dealt with the insurance company, the car rental company, and the towing company. I didn't come out of pocket for a single thing other than a serpentine belt that was recommended to be changed. As a customer, I have zero complaints with them.

danny , didn't your pop teach you to never go with an independent shop ?? dealerships avoid pissing matches like the plague . good bad or ugly they have more at stake . independent shops are usually one check away from lock down .
and there is no such thing as saving the deductible. that is likely the only profit.

That's why you get paid the big bucks. To put up with people's bullshit.

Let's be real here. Nobody likes anyone that works for a dealership anyway.

Your their customer. Of course they treat you well.

Back when I represented dealerships, they were unanimously hated by everyone. Im honestly surprised that they could even get parts from anywhere. I watched them throw a damn hissy fit while hot-shotting a part that the manufacturer had on back order for two days one day. They started bitching at me, even though I had zero to do with any of it, and was simply helping the dealership get the part to them as early as they could. They honestly acted like a bunch of children.

Perhaps they have changed, but I doubt it.

Yeah, but you're a customer whereas DJ is a vendor.

I can't speak to that shop, but it is extremely common for businesses to act one way with customers and the complete opposite with vendors.

I won't say anything other than it is interesting to hear public perception of some shops compared to what we know having sold them everything from parts to paint.

Ive heard some crazy horror stories out of Houston.

They dont have contracted tow drivers, it's first come first serve. So you get in a wreck, and 15 wreckers show up. You have to read the fine print on the ticket you are signing, because they will take it to their yard slash body shop and Taquería, tear it down for an estimate (per your request, in the fine print) and wait for you to call asking why it isnt at the body shop you requested it go. Then they wait for the insurance to come see their teardown, and expect to be paid for tearing it down.

Yup, I had the same thing happen to me. It was a friends daughter that wrecked out on the tollway, she insisted that they bring it to me. The driver came in and demanded $250.00, I told that cocksucker to get off my property before he became a statistic. He left mad and mumbled something about me never getting another nice money making wreck. I told that queer, I didn't need his or anyone's else's business.

    Damned leeches!
