Thanks. That's about all I know as well and I really should meet with a professional. Roth also has increased contributions in your later years.

The big draw the 457 is being able to draw penalty free whenever I retire from the fire service. That's a big plus because I will retire well before 60. Also tax deferred would help reduce my income

Big draw on the Roth is being able to draw any of my contributions at any time without penalty. I would consider myself a guy who worries about the worse case so having access to a large amount of money would be great. I am also "gambling" on the idea that taxes will be higher in the future. My pension income will be significant at probably at least $60k/year but likely much higher.

Not really. I had this exact same model in highschool and I loved to pick on 99-04 gt's with their off road h pipes. They are also faster than a civic type R and any honda civic si including the current models

I have had 2 that were all body kitted up and my original had a full blitz kit about a month before the movie came out. I was king of highschool for the next 2 years.

These were both non turbo cars and both extremely un reliable with oil leaks and timing belt issues

This one my wife drove for about 2 years. We got it from a car toys executive, former show car with pearl paint and only had 68k miles. Timing belt broke the first week we got it, it sat 3 months then fixed. Put 30k miles on it in 2 years and the belt tensioner failed. Sold after fixed, seen it pop up a few times on craigslist, wrecked by the guy we sold it to, primered by the next owner, and last I saw was in the back ground of another eclipse for sale ad being prepped for paint

my first car was a 97 talon tsi with a HRC sidemount IC and a 16G turbo, when that was the cool upgrade to have. I sold it for a 94 z28 after about a year.

I feel the same way. Being this way though has allowed me to recently walk away from about $100,000 job with nothing lined up so I could spend more time with my son. No debt except the house plus alot in savings means I don't have to stress and the wife's salary can cover almost all monthly expenses. There has been zero stress about me quitting when I did, so to anyone who may feel weird about trying to be debt free and have no car payments, it is fucking worth it. I have been out of work 2 months and we havent even depleted half the checking account we started with, and haven't touched savings.

BTW, Advanced has those studs for $2 and the lug nut for $5. Fix that damn hub!
They are all destroyed at this point, and frankly they are terrible cars to work on. They are notoriously un reliable and make terrible daily drivers. They are the one car I can always negotiate down on price, some one is always selling one because it is broken, or they just paid to have it fixed

I bought the car from the original owner and he said Firestone forgot to put the key for the lug nuts in the car. I used the left handed impact tap sockets and got them all off, next day at work I got the new lug nuts.

This will be my 5th dsm. I have been browsing craigslist for 5 years trying to specifically find a bone stock non shit pile first or second gen.

The eclipse is the exact reason I deal with cash cars, if I see one I want, guess what I can afford it. That being said it takes a while to find a good clean cash car

Also besides for every dsm I've ever owned, I usually make a substantial profit when I do sell a daily driver

I'm no expert on 457 plans, but from what I've read/heard the 457 is the better option.
