It was the EASIEST most common part, a freakin intake. Summit was $5 cheaper on the regular price BEFORE the instant rebate.

I gave Smileys props. I know Tom and the crew real well. Hell I'm related to one of his right hand guys.

Thats 119 at Summit with the rebate and $149 at Smileys. And I doubt Smileys will price match ANY price on the web.
I like the guys over there at Smileys, but you can beat the big box on most deals

They will almost undoubtedly run Atech out of the same warehouse with will call and deliveries to local shops. I am certain anything I buy from them will go right onto my sisters Atech account and I will pay her via CC for cost plus 3%cc fees. Save on the tax and get it for a better than advertised price.

For years summit used to be the go to source for me but as internet suppliers started getting better storefronts and selling from the same supplier as summit with less overhead .....my costs went down as most items drop shipped direct from manufacturer such as ARP....fuck summit on ARP....
doubt it will bring them 80mil to cover the building, but shipping to cali in a day or two from DFW might. They have a solid market share, and do a ton of wholesale, so just you and I arent really where the money is.

For me, this new summit will be 8 miles from my house, and with the retail store being open M-F 9a-9p, the smaller stuff that I would normally wait to get a bigger order so I could save on shipping wont be an issue for me. I'll go pick it up. The bigger ticket items will still be shopped. Spending 4 bucks on tax for a 50 sale is still cheaper than shipping, most of the time.

Not sure this is going to work out for them unless they offer discount codes for Texas sales to offset the sales tax... Any idea what they offer for residents where they have their other wearhouse?

Also keep in mind that they'll have a ton of commercial accounts. Almost everyone I know with a race car has some kind of business license. If your business sponsors your race car then those sales shouldn't be taxed.

With as little margin that is in the parts, I doubt they will offer anything close to a 7% savings off total ticket prices. They have to show the sales to state residents and will have to kick those taxes to the states, as you know. If they don't collect that 7% they have to eat it and I doubt they will with that little margin on the table.

Big ticket items will probably be the only thing they notice Texans not purchasing. The rest, where the 7% sales tax isn't noticed when the customer can get it in a day without the over night costs or even better when they can pick it up from their warehouse here locally.
