Walmart is China. You shop there, you support the enemy and contribute to the further demise of this country. That's my opinion.

I know it's capitalism and more power to them, but their success hinges on stupid Americans consuming imported goods for cheap, instead of spending more on local goods, encouraging local production and stimulating domestic growth. It's alright though, we don't make anything in this country anymore so we might as well accept defeat and buy cheap from our enemy. It's the American way now.

Have you ever heard the quote "The business of America is business?" What about just "Business is business?" No, I don't work at Wal-Mart but you've (well not YOU obviously) got to love people who hate on Wal-Mart for whatever reason considering every one of those people are hypocrites. What kind of vehicles do you own? It doesn't really matter, because even if was assembled in America, it's full of parts manufactured in other countries. What kind of phone do you have? What brand television?

You're the only one who thinks this conversation is a "competition."

Wal-Mart is just an easy target...speaking of targets...why not hate on Target? It's the same basic business. So why do you hate Wal-Mart so much, but have nothing to say about a company like Target?

I thought that had finally happened a while back when it jumped to $55.
    I'm a buyer at $48.

How is it socialism and not a business? They provide a product, people buy the product. Sure, that person could go get the same product from somewhere else...at a higher cost(that makes a lot of sense). They have employees. The pee-ons make pee-on wages, the higher ups make a lot more. That's how it is with literally every major business. How many employees of Microsoft are worth $40 billion dollars? How many of them are close to that?

Feel bad for the mom and pop businesses? Well, perhaps you shouldn't be in an industry where titans have dominated for decades and then bitch about how they get all of the customers.

That's more along the lines of what I would have expected.

Yep, all the steaks I get at Costco are USDA Choice or Prime. Almost everything Walmart sells is Select except for the 'Genuine Steakhouse' stuff that is USDA Choice and costs more than Costco.

Hey, if you or anyone else want to go there, that's fine. I'm not going there. They don't value their own people and I try to avoid companies like that.
if you owned a business with competition at every corner, would you like to dominate and reap the rewards of a successful business?

You guys need to think about the business as if you owned it. You would do the same damn thing.
