Many people ditch the charcoal canister but I recommend that you keep it. This will keep your car / garage from smelling of gas fumes.

most common bearing used in stuff

likely a 6203 2rs most common bearing used in stuff, the same as most idler pullys, front alternator bearings, lawn mower spindle bearings.

Badass! I'll seriously buy 3 of them, unless they are retardedly expensive for whatever reason or another. Thanks again!

So even if I got another used one, I'd still tear it apart and go through it. Most of the problems seem to develop when the car/pump/etc sits for a long time. For example, this car sat for awhile, after I drove it for about 1,000 miles, the pump locked-up, tossed the belt, etc and somewhat left me stranded. I put another one on from a motor I had pulled out of a wrecked GT 10 years ago. The motor had sat in my garage with the smog pump on it never touched for that long. It still spun, so I bolted it on. 500 or so miles later there I am damn-near stranded again when it locked-up and tossed the belt! So I actually have a couple locked-up pumps here at the house. I'd like to rebuild them all and use them on my other foxes and not ever worry about the shit again!

MattB, I think that there is something to your theory. I have an engine from a parts car that was running good when removed from the car. The engine sat for a few years intact but now that it is disassembled for a rebuild the smog pump is locked up tight. I've already decided to do the same thing as you and rebuild that pump before putting it in the mustang.

A+, If you do ditch your smog stuff I would like to have the smog pump if MattB doesn't take you up on it.

It should cross to a newer number. I'll try and remember to look into it tomorrow.

I kinda pounded around on it and it was hard to read, but I got a magnifying glass and after a few attempts I believe the correct part number is FC65885 outside diameter = 1.875" 1 7/8" inside diameter 1.5" and height of 1/2". Looks like I'll just google around and order a few. I'm not in any hurry, just one of my projects I wanted to finish before inspection time in a few months. If I can't find anything I'll go visit those places. Thanks Trevor!
