  • How is the Covid closures issues in/around Grapevine

Have to be in Grapevine next week. Is most everything open, at least at a reduced capacity? Restaurants? Shopping?

Go wherever you wish. Everything is open except 121N (construction). Take a mask with you. Many businesses require them still.

Thanks. Sounds about like here in Amarillo.

The fancier restaurants (Bob's) still have reserved seating at the bar and hope you wear a mask. Otherwise business as usual.

I work in Grapevine. Everything appears normal + mask.

I went in 5 stores and/or restaurants yesterday with no mask and zero fucks given. No one said a word to me.

The QT by my house still has a small “wear a mask” sign but I’ll be damned if literally zero employees have one on and I don’t wear one either. YMMV.

I've been into several QT's and none of them have mask on, nor did I notice a sign. I still try and abide by the establishments posted rules if I go somewhere, though.

Thanks just wanted to know before I got there what to expect. Don’t see a lot of issues with people wearing or not wearing a mask here either. Most are respectful of others choice to wear or not wear one. During the cold weather it is actually nice, walking in/out of business and not freezing your face! Lol Only has one issue all year about someone upset about wearing a mask but I could care less about his opinion. I know I am around people that are exposed on a daily basis. So I will wear one as long as I think it might serve a purpose.

I was eating at a small restaurant in Frisco yesterday that had a sign on the door to wear masks, and all the employees were wearing them, so I obliged and wore mine. About 10 minutes later a family of 3 walks in and the guy behind the counter asks them to wear their masks and they replied they do not have any. The employee offers them some for free but instead they just turned around and left...

I get both sides of it, dude was just doing his job as directed and the family decided to take their business elsewhere, easy right? Nope... all the employees were trash talking them about how bad of parents they are not setting a good example for their kid while the parents were bitching about it on the way out the door. I don't understand why everyone gets so butt-hurt about it? It is a personal choice... either you WANT to wear a mask or you don't... or the third option more like myself is that you don't want to wear it but understand that some places will still require it so you either oblige or go elsewhere with your money.

You've been here long enough to know the only restaurant that matters is Mi Dia from scratch.

Odd. You would think that would be a company policy. The two QT's I've been into the past week have all employees wearing mask.

Just curious Don but if they required mask wearing, would you wear one?

Propaganda and hive minds are powerful forces. I'd have a hard time not complaining to management about the staff trash talking people. You can do that in the kitchen where customers can't hear or see it all you want but out in the open is never acceptable. That's just a few steps away from refusing to serve a soldier for being a baby killer or some other random liberal viewpoint.
