  • Need 03-04 SVT Cobra factory pistons.

I just need one, but may take the entire set and even a short block assembly if it's a good deal.

    TIA.

Why factory pistons? Why not just get a new set of aftermarket?

It's not for me, my buddy bought a wrecked one (clean title 22k miles) and just one piston is fubar. It looks as though a FI was intermittent and detonated just one and he only wants to replace that one and get it running.
He bought it wrecked and has spent a lot of money getting the body right and finally got it running and we found this with a bore scope. I told him to take it apart and put new pistons and rods, it has a 2.8l Ford Racing blower on it, new heads, solid rear end, full exhaust.

Gotcha, best of luck to him, but go ahead and lock in my bet now that *if he does just replace that piston*, it will blow up bad later for whatever reason.

I had that happen one time. Will sure piss you off.

One a side note Henry, I thought I saw that bad ass one from here, that did the mile run, crunched up for sale on market place. Before you said blower I thought that was the one you were talking about. Probably not the same one but it was a twin turbo and looked very similar.
          Whos your Daddy?

I keep telling him that get new shit, but hes at the end of his rope throwing money at it. He was almost done, and the Ford GT fuel pumps were bad, well the rubber hoses connecting the pumps were bad, but he had already bought some new ones and got it fired up. But that one cylinder was clicking, took out a plug and saw that piston all detonated with scaring, a small piece of the piston is broken too and you can see the ring.
IMO, there is no way to fix it, you might get it out, but putting it back in is not going to be easy as you have to have room for that ring compressor. Eh, hes a hard head, I guess we'll see.

I'm hoping he throws is hands up and sells it to me on the cheap, I'll throw a built short block in it with the quickness and have that bitch at the track in a week.

Believe a new piston from Ford is around a hundred bucks.
