I really enjoyed Angel Fire, I thought it was a cool little town with nice skiing.

the only thing i dont like about RR is the whole town basically shuts down at 8. its very odd to me

No question....Lake Tahoe. Olympic Village-Squaw Valley, Northstar, Heavenly, etc. Several great resorts within 30-40 minutes, or Heavenly right by town. Gorgeous and plenty of fresh snow. Ski all day and gamble all night. Perfect.

I might've mentioned it, since it's in NE Utah.

This is where I was initially looking. There's a Harrahs there that isn't too far from the lifts. But the Fairmont in Whistler looks awesome. Will have to look into that.

There is a nice Marriot right next to the Heavenly lift if you don't want to deal with walking a ways in ski boots, paid lockers, or waiting on a shuttle. Harrah's is nice too, but it is a couple blocks over.

Last year we stayed at quaint little hotel/spa called the 968 Park, which is across 50 and a few blocks over, but snowboard boots are a bit easier to walk in. I couldn't give to shits about the "green" part, but I really enjoyed the atmosphere, a bit more low key than the big resorts mentioned above.

If you do go to SLT, try an make it to the Riva Grill for dinner one evening. Great food right on the lake, with a little class. $30-$50 a person not including drinks, which is resonable considering the atmoshpere. Or of course there's the casino buffet if you are more in the mood to dine with the fatties and fogeys.

Shit Aaron, you're selling me on Lake Tahoe. I went up there once but I was still young and was on a road trip with my parents. We stayed in Lake Tahoe but only one night and moved on.

Dave - If you go there look for the Bonanza lot.. They filmed the tv show there and last time I was there you could do a tour of the lot and go in the Cartwright house.
