Interesting. It must really vary by examiner and trust. My trust has the scheduled items in the certification, so when I make an NFA purchase I write the item name and serial number in the schedule and submit it all.

My trust list articles in the Schedule as well. The way I understood it in the past you could send just the certification in place of the trust, now they want the full copy.

So you list your NFA item on the trust prior to owning it? That was one of the biggest things I have heard will get it kicked back....

Right, from what I remember they file your trust, and after the full copy is sent the first time, a certification would suffice with updated inventory. But now they want a full trust each time.

Yes, I have listed the item prior to owning it every time and all my stamps have come in just fine.

I believe so. The lawyer who set up my trust told me to do it that way.

I just walk into a courtroom and get a judge to sign. Seems a lot less complicated.

I do not want to mess with the love letter, also I don't want to do any finger print cards or photos. I also like that those listed in my trust can use, transport, and store the weapons lawfully.

It also is supposed to take less time to get your paperwork back.

The standard LEO signoff leaves you spending more time, more effort, and you end up with less rights when it's done.

OK so I am not trying to prove anyone wrong, I am actually learning here as anyone else who would be reading this for their first NFA item purchase, so these questions and answers may help people along the way.

I called my dealer and confirmed (just making sure I submitted mine right), as well as a quick Google and both found to list the item AFTER you receive your stamp as you do not actually own it, and can't legally be part of your trust till you do. It sounds like they have been approved both ways, so guess it is a minor detail.

Everything needs to be listed in the Schedule A except the new item you are getting, it gets listed after you receive your stamped Form.

Interesting, but like I said, I have been approved every time even though I listed the item as being owned. And again, my lawyer told me to do it that way.

that's not true either; my last individual tax-paid Form 4 transfer was approved in two days, and I had the approved form with the $200 tax stamp affixed back in hand eleven days after mailing it; but YMMV...

How long ago was this? I am sorry but there is no way in hell in the last 5 or so years it has taken less then 60 days from check cash, to approval.
Right now it is 5 months FROM PENDING.
