I miss my 4 door, I was offered twice what I had in it, and like a dumb ass took the deal.
I wish I still had it.
Good luck man, I'm totally living vicariously through you so do it right!

Struts came in.

I forgot to order new strut bump stops. But ordered them with my manual rack and shaft today.

Im not a big fan of aje's coilover design. Id go with stranges kit if i did another.

Just figured out i need 87-93 v8 spindles as well. The old 4 bangers are thicker.

I wanted to upgrade anyway, but just dont have the cash right now. If i would have got any other strut besides the strange id be fine haha.

The 87 and up spindles are thinner where the strut bolts up vs the thicker 4cly and older spindles.

Thats why the strange struts say v8 only. Every other shock company gives you spacers.

Do you have your 5.3 yet? I've got mine, trying to get an oil pan for it today. I think I'm gonna go with a CTS-V pan off ebay. I'm trying to find a gasket set for it too seems mine is a high milage motor

Ill prob go with the f body pan. Im waiting on the engine until i have the suspension done.

After i get these things installed the project will sit most of the year while i gather more parts.

Im just a poor man trying to build something decent.

What rear is in yours? Drun 8.8 or disc?

Drum 8.8.

I got this CTS-V pan, comes with pan, dipstick, windage tray and pickup tube. My pickup tube is completely clogged up with sludge.

The manual rack and all the supporting hardware came today. I got most of it put together today.

Im having to make my own bushings for the old struts so i can use them to roll the car around. The steering rack is nice and light. I didnt follow their instructions for the shaft. I tapped them a few threads vs a divit.

What are the details on that turbo? I've about got all my 5.3 parts rounded up. Just missing some fuel fittings, regulator and maybe an ls1 intake. I've been researching what turbo to go with now

Next turbo im getting will be a borg warner s475.

That is a cheapo gt45 from vsracing. The on3 76mm will make about the same power but has a really small turbine sidevs the gt45.

Its all in how much power you want to make. The gt45 ive seen 600ish but they are iffy quality. Ive seen big numbers out of the s400 series borgs esp once you start getting the fancy billet wheels and shit.

I've narrowed my choices to the s475r or the s480. Gotta get some guidance about the differences between the two and if I want the billet wheel or not

I had to call flaming river on the rack. They claimed 4 turns lock to lock, but its really 3 1/2 ish. Once i got it centered i got the rest of the suspension back together for now.

Its officially a roller again. Sold the engine and trans that i pulled from it. Nor sure what i want to buy next.
