Mine's a MkIII, FFR6185. I've had it for a few years, and if I can afford it again, I'll finish it. My motor is a 427W stroker that should put out about 550/550 HP/TQ. Gonna be seriously bad ass. Let me know if you need anything.

silver with light silver stripes FTW!

Awesome build project!

Also, if you ever plan to track the car beware you will need to have equal protection for you and your instructor. Dual hoops at minimum and must be above your helmet. Insurance companies have been revising rules which are running off open top cars. Just FYI.

I built one a few years back and still have it. It was fun to build, kit goes together really good and the mustang parts integrate well. I went with a built 5.0 engine, plenty of hp for the chassis. Painted it white with blue stripes.

You are my new best friend.

I've been wanting one of these for about 30 years.

In 10 more years, when I retire, I plan on selling back my sick time, vacation, holiday and comp time to fund my project.

I should have about $80k to build one, and I'm looking at a 347 with aluminum heads and a twin screw supercharger.

You should do black with grabber blue stripes. Never seen one in that combo.

Just curious as to what the cost is, in buying/building a factory 5 car like that.

I'm trying to find the pics but there was one I saw I had fallen in love with. He used a 4R70W which was the only thing I didn't like but the motor setup was killer and he only had $3000 into the engine.
Was a Teksid 4.6 long block from a 97 or 98 Lincoln Mark VIII, 98 Cobra plenum, Comp springs, 42lb injectors and a Vortech centri with a FMIC. Car made 480 rwhp and reved to the moon and had a crap ton of torque from 1200rpm on.
The sound that thing made at 6000 rpm was so sick. Plus the motor always fired up instantly and ran perfect on pump gas.

Was an unusual combo. At idle the car would rumble like it had a big block in it but when you mashed the loud pedal it screamed like it was an Aston or a Jag.

Made some progress today. Got the front F panels riveted in, and most the front suspension done. I've gotta trim my tie rod ends, and order my rotors still.

For that much money, you can build two!
