  • Cummins swap

Anyone ever do a Cummins swap into anything? Is the skill level involved like a 10, as I think it will be? Looking at an old Ramcharger...

Never done a cummins swap, but it seems really easy. If you're doing a 12 valve, it's just a one wire motor. Fuel tank, lines, motor mounts, transmission mount, driveshaft, and you're good.

Buddy at work did one on a Chevy 4x4. He's got about 30k miles on it now. The 12 valve swaps are fairly easy. Basically 2 wires to make em run.. The rest is fab work. They aint light.
Check out his Instagram page. He's got some stuff on there . He's - mechanic_mat on Instagram

i've got a 60's f600 . last time i saw it was years ago but it was really clean for it's age. plan is to do a 12v swap and build a service truck for my godson. he wants to be a diesel wrench . i've seen a bunch of 12v swaps and they always look right at home .

Seen it several times in old square bodies. Seems like weight and firewall clearance is the big issue.

We'll see what happens. If I get a truck//Blazer/Bronco/Ramcharger type vehicle I will be doing one. This will more than likely be a long drawn out project if I do. lol Thanks all.
