Budget speakers for home theater

that is assuming of course we are still talking about 5.1 and using towers in front and bookshelves in back. My room is using bookshelves up front because I had cabinet limits and in-ceilings in the rear so it all just depends on room size and layout along with budget.

Yes 5.1. I haven't decided on towers or bookshelves in the front. I have the space for towers but I'm about to have a kiddo so I'm not sure how safe they would be with him roaming the floor

best bet is to buy used. hit up craigslist for lower budget speaker purchases. you can typically save about 50-70% buying used speakers.

I just snagged a nice pair of boston towers for 60 bucks at a thrift store..
