Need a home security system programmed in Frisco

My wife is wanting to have the system actually work. The system was in the house when we bought it and only chimed when the doors would open or close. We couldn't arm it because the previous owner changed the master codes and I was unable to reset it via instructions I Googled. Anyway, I bought a new control board but can't decipher the overly complicated manual to make it work. I have a small home and the system isn't complex, but for whatever reason they made it virtually impossible to program.

hmmmm... my house is in a similiar situation. Do you pay for monitoring too? Or can I just have an alarm not monitored? I'm just down Eldorado technically in Little Elm but at the border to frisco.
