Talk me out of a new plasma

I'm needing a new TV, and have 2 plasma's already (42 and 50, both Samsungs). It's strictly for viewing TV and movies (no gaming). It will be in a dimly lit room, for the most part. I found a 58" Samsung that would fit the bill nicely. These seem to be a little more refined than my older sets. Any reasons why I shouldn't pull the trigger on this? I've really enjoyed my Samsungs' for the last 4/5 years with no issues at all.

Not really any reason not to get one. Unless you find a good deal on a 3d tv. Plasma's are getting really dirt cheap.

I already have 2 other plasma's in the house. 3D doesn't really interest me. I need a big one to replace one I already have over the fireplace. I want to move it to an area outside my kitchen and use it as a monitor.

What's the price? My Dad just picked up the Samsung LCD in BB's ad, and it was $100 cheaper in store than it was in the ad. 55", 1080p, blah blah blah.

A little under $1200 for the 58" at my local store. I'm a huge Samsung fan. It just seems like the plasma still has a lot to offer for the money. What model did your dad buy?

edit* I found it. He paid about the same for a 55" LCD. Hmmmm...

edit* I found it. He paid about the same for a 55" LCD. Hmmmm...

Quite a drop in size, but Wal Mart has a samsung 46" 5 series LED w/blu ray bundle for $898 also.
