no thats marco andretti, at least john won a few races. yea he never did do anything great in nascar or Indy, but he at least can race and has made the Indy 500 in the last 2 years. Downsizing is a good thing. RCR did it last year when they dropped the 07 and Casey Mears and went from a 4 car operation to a 3 car operation. In 2009 they had none of their 4 cars make the chase, and this year they had a 3 make the chase.

As for RPM, well Richard Petty's racing team has been a sinking ship ever since John Andretti left. They merged with Yates, which honestly was more hype than good. Yates Racing isn't what they used to be 10 years ago with the 88 and 28. But downsizing to 2 cars instead of 4 will be good. Now they dont have to spread out the operation, they can just build 2 solid cars for Ambrose and Allmendinger.

not to sound like a dick, but when will that ever happen? we thought last year after he missed the chase he would, but no. he always beats himself
I still think he will eventually come around. He beats a lot of the sprint cup drivers (Harvick, Edwards, Hamlin, Kezlowski) in the nationwide series as well. He can be an ass outside of the car all he wants. He just needs to learn to watch his temper trantrums and not get irritated so easily. I feel thats what keeps him from being a champion. Or at least a huge part of it.

Some of the things he has done this year the Truck and Nationwide series are mind boggling but when the competition gets tighter in Nascar his true colors shine through. I am hoping he will mature over time but I have been saying that for several years now.

I was not a fan of hamlin during his early years of blaming everybody but himself. Even when he sped on pit row and blamed the crew for not telling him. But he seems to have matured and is a true challenge to the crown.

I still think he is the best pure driver out there, when he can get his head straight and out of his ass. It sucks for me. He was my replacement for when Jeff was done. I dont know who that will be now. It sucks Gibbs went with toyota!

I will definitely be here more once the season starts and we can start some good discussions. As you can tell I am a big JGR and Denny Hamlin fan. I have been a FedEx employee for 19 years so I am obviously partial to Hamlin. It was tough for me when they switched to Toyota but I have adjusted nicely. I am a Ford nut so being a GM based team wasn't easy for me but then the Toyota switch just about sent me elsewhere. I was at the TMS race in April and November in full Hamlin gear. During the November race I was sitting right behind a row of Harvick fans who tormented the hell out of me the whole race. It was good fun when they fell dead silent near the end and had to listen to me cheer Hamlin to the win. It will be great to have some nice Nascar discussions going on regularly.

Here is another stating that they knew early on that they would have fuel mileage issues so conserving would not really help them. Johnson was told to conserve fuel starting with the caution at 88 laps to go and then Denny stayed out during the last caution.

    http://www.allleftturns.com/fuel-mil...se-closer-ever

Here is another that was an interview after the season was over. Hamlin said "being short on the fuel mileage because of increased engine power in his Toyota this season ultimately hurt him.

    http://www.sbnation.com/nascar/2010/...peedway-finish

Another huge issue not many have mentioned is his 37th qualifying spot at Homestead which ultimately lead to his early crash. Last race of the season and your up by 15 points and talking about be extremely aggressive. He tried to race his way to the front very early and got in trouble being to aggressive. There has been numerous times this season they have struggled badly on qualifying day only to be the dominant car on race day. The last race of the season was the worst to come up with the 37th spot in the lineup.
To be honest, I didnt listen to those. My point was that I was listening to them on the team radio. Ford himself admitted he may have screwed up. Lets be totally honest, they all ( every nascar team ) is good at covering up what really goes on or what happens unless your there in the garage or shop. And of course it helps when you can listen to the chatter from driver to crew chief. We know what they want us to know. How many times have drivers or crew chiefs chaned their original statements after a talk with the boss or a little "cool down " period? LOL

That was part of my quoating Ray Everyham when he said no matter what, there was no way to be 10 laps off of what everybody else was even with bad mileage.

i do thank you for the different interviews. It really does boil down to what source you want to follow. I chose to go by way of the majority that I heard and they seemed to go the way of Fords bad calculating.

As far as the day of the race, yes he qualified bad with a 15 point lead. My point to that was had that fuel mishap not happened, he would have come in with a 60/65 point lead. He would have won the title regardless of what Johnson did, barring Denny didn't wreck.

Hell, I wish you guys would have been around during the season. Or at least had more threads about racing. We could have had some good debates and discussions.
