Wash calls the steal? I figured batter just sees runner take off and does what he can to protect.

He doesn't always call the steals, but he (or another coach) does the majority of the time when it's a hit and run

try a few others, I hate that shit too. Some of them you can close, mouse over and look for an X.

But it shouldn't be a mostly automatic out. They only pitch once every 5-6 days, plenty of time for extra BP. Cliff Lee can hit, and most of the Cardinals pitchers can hit.
