No fucking way they should give Hamilton anything more than 5 years. One of these days, he's going to fall and not get up.

Agreed on that. Hopefully no one else is dumb enough to give him more, it'd be nice to be able to hang on to him for a reasonable price. Not likely, though.Originally posted by Nash B. Moreland? Are you kidding? You don't read well. I LOVED the guy! I wanted Chris Davis out of here so Moreland could play. You must have pretty good dope down on Waco...Originally posted by Slowhand View PostCome on man, you know that's not true. You've been dogging his ass at every chance since not long after day one.

Here is the supposed latest on ESPN about Darvish. Not sure how true it is but doesnt sound good
• The Texas Rangers have been low-balling Japanese free-agent pitcher Yu Darvish, hoping he agrees to a deal far south of the $75-80 million range he’s seeking. Darvish is such a competitor that he won’t be afraid to return to Japan if the Rangers don’t at least offer him a C.J. Wilson-type contract (five years, $77.5 million).

I heard this morning they were offering him somewhere around 55 mill. Even that seems like alot when you add in the 52 mill to his team.Originally posted by GTBrian23 View PostHere is the supposed latest on ESPN about Darvish. Not sure how true it is but doesnt sound good

yeah for the Rangers that would be a lot for sure. Unfortunately in these deals the player is only looking at his money. the orginal 52Mil mean nothing to him.Originally posted by mstng86 View PostI heard this morning they were offering him somewhere around 55 mill. Read where Hamilton is wanting his deal done before spring training (The Rangers signed Kinsler and Young to long-term deals during camp). The Rangers have shown nothing but patience and sympathy (besides giving his career a "rebirth"), and I feel like he's being a little pushy. The Rangers did open preliminary talks with Fielder, but still. We're still talking about a guy that will be 31 in May and has played the equivalent of less than 4 seasons of pro ball. I think he owes the Rangers the common courtesy of them going about business in their usually manner. His attitude came across in the article, and I didn't really care for it.

I dont see anything wrong with the request. He simply doesnt want to be distracted by contract talks during the season. If there is no deal by Spring Training then they can work it out after the season. I'm sure he understands that the Rangers want to hold out until after they figure out how much they will be devoting to free agency.Originally posted by Vertnut View PostRead where Hamilton is wanting his deal done before spring training (The Rangers signed Kinsler and Young to long-term deals during camp). Prince Fielder vs Josh Hamiltion. Who I want more long term on team...
BOTH.... Think of this lineup
1 Kinsler(r) 2nd... 30/30
2 Young(r) DH ... hitter... contact/power
3 Hamilton(L) LF ... Roy Hobbs
4 Beltre(r) 3rd ... Great hitter, Power, contact, clutch
5 Fielder(l) 1st ... Power... run production.. scary hitter
6 Cruz(r) RF ... IF healthy.. nasty
7 Napoli(r) C ... Clutch midseason-playoffs
8 Gentry(r) CF... dude can run
9 Andrus(r) SS... getting better with bat and run! Some cars and a bike...
Some say... they have been raced, some a lot
