Heisman Votes Rolling In

he's almost done with grad school already and apparently they're having trouble figuring out what he'll do as far as school goes if he stays. He wants to start law school, but that's absurd to try and do while playing. That said, no one here expects him to stay, although he apparently is still keen on it. There's a kid with a similar skillset that's been redshirted and is waiting his turn, so starting the Griffin-less era wouldn't be as painful as it could be, potentially.

Of the 109 voters that have made their selections public Griffin is in first place on65 of their ballots. Luck is the next closest with 13 first place votes.
Don't disagree with that at all. Regardless of those stats, I'm still not convinced that alot of the SEC defensive prowess that has been so highly regarded this season (and is why Richardson got an invite) isn't predicated more on shitty offenses than it is outstanding defense.Originally posted by ZYouL8R View PostI don't see how Montee Ball isn't getting more love.
Almost 1800 yards and 38 total TD.
200 more yards and 15 more TDs than Trent Richardson.

Griffin maintaing his lead with 144 ballots in. Stiffarmtrophy.com's prediction is expected to come somewhere around ~250 ballots, and they've predicted correctly 9 years in a row. If he's still got the lead there then he stands a very good chance to take home the trophy on Saturday.

Simply for comparison's sake:
Tyrann Mathieu 2011 (LSU): 70 tackles, 2 INTs, 6 FF, 4 TDs
Joe Pawelek 2008 (BU): 128 tackles, 6 INTs, 3 FF
Someone explain to me how Mathieu is in this race?
Pawelek played on a very bad Bears team that year, and as a safety/linebacker hybrid he was bound to get more tackles, and I'm not at all suggesting that he should have been in the running for the Heisman or anything of the sort, but I don't understand how Mathieu is in this race at all; you take him off that defense and they're still a great defense, not to mention that I'd be surprised if you couldn't find similar performances out of players from any manner of teams in the NCAA every year in the past decade.

guess you haven't paid attention to how he's basically single handily turned the momentum on games where LSU wasnt doing anything at all.Originally posted by Slowhand View PostSimply for comparison's sake:
