I think this could be a big win for the Rangers, hopefully he makes a full recovery.

Glad to hear. Guess we will see if that shoulder is healed.

Cool deal! One year or not, if he's got something left, we'll get his best...because he wants that next contract.

Rangers have come to terms with Webb:

Free-agent pitcher Brandon Webb has agreed to a one-year contract with the Texas Rangers, pending a physical, an official of a club that had interest in Webb told ESPN.com's Jayson Stark.

I would like this deal, even if he will not budge on 1 year, take him and see how he does. If he lights it up then he deserves a bigger deal the next year anyway. If we get him for 2 years and he lights it up then we get one hell of a deal for the 2 years.

i work for one of the owners in the ownership group. we were all at happy hour this evening and he told me that the hangup with Webb is that he only wants to sign for one year and the rangers are pushing for two years.

webb wants only one year so he can have a great year and then command cliff lee money after one year.

another note is that his doctor is one of the rangers team doctors.

we'll see who wins out. him for one year or the rangers with two.

    Webb deal close?

The Rangers and Brandon Webb could be getting close to a deal. Word is Webb is in the Metroplex and has met with both manager Ron Washington and pitching coach Mike Maddux. Word is that his agent, Jonathan Mauer, will have further discussions with the Rangers today to try to hammer out a deal. Webb is throwing and he has told people that he expects to be at full strength in Spring Training....

I heard the Rangers are looking at FA Righty Brandon Webb. Supposedly any contract he signs would be incentive-laden due to his recent shoulder problems. I'd say its worth a shot for that reason. If any of his 2006-2008 ability returns then the Rangers would be in good shape.
Yeah, Webb was great. I'd take that chance as well.

yea ranger fans need some perspective right now. Why trade the farm system for 1 guy. 2011 might be a letdown, but with the farm system that we have and the ownership, we wont go another 10 plus years without making the playoffs
