Although it's painful now, I still think everything Cuban did was in the best longterm interest of the team. When you look at how long it takes a team to retool, I think doing it this year (shortened season after a title win) was the best option. He gained the financial flexibility to rework this thing in ONE shortened season and hopefully position us to be a contender for at least through the end of Dirk's career. NOW, with that said, I think if the don't make a BIG splash this summer, then it will all be for naught. The pressure is now on the front office to come through with some block buster work.

I agree but he is basically putting all his eggs in one basket. Hopefully it will work out if not it will be the mavs of the 90's all over again.

If we don't land DWill, we're in a world of hurt and time for rebuilding. I don't think Cubes will let this team suck for long, but w/o DWill, it's gonna be an ugly coupla years 'round here.
