I wish we would have got one of his younger protégé's like Lovie. Maybe JJ will for red headed jesus and hire Chuckie...

I don't know why people knock on Ratliff. He's a fantastic player. But he's never been a nose tackle, and was forced in to that role. He just doesn't have the size. Still though, he's done well considering.
I hope this helps some. They never really staffed this defense to be a 3-4. We were playing 3-4 with a 4-3 staff. Kiffin is a smart guy, obviously. But I have concerns about his age.

In a 4-3 D.Ware, Hatcher and Ratliff can be used to their full potential.

This draft is gonna be hard to predict until we see what we do with Ratliff and Spencer. I honestly would want Spencer but he's gonna get big money if he stays and we've seen how that turns out (COUGH Miles, Ratliff Cough Doug Free)
Spears - I think will stay and is signed for few more years?? plus he was a lot better in the 4-3 at LSU
Coleman - too old.. gone
Josh Brent - yeah we already know about him
Lessimore - big body and young
Hatcher - our most consistent defensive linemen
Crawford - young and will be getting a lot more PT.

Oh what do you know...
IRVING, Texas -- Three days after firing Rob Ryan, the Dallas Cowboys have hired Monte Kiffin as their new defensive coordinator, according to sources. Kiffin, who turns 73 in February, resigned as Southern Cal's defensive coordinator last month after spending four years on his son Lane's staffs at USC and Tennessee. He spent 26 years as an NFL assistant coach, including a 13-year run as Tampa Bay's defensive coordinator before returning to college football in 2009.
