I look at it like this: Jerry Jones has created a team of talented, athletic thugs and gangsters and Ryan couldn't coach them. It's not a matter of whether or not Ryan was a good DC or not, I'm sure he is. I've heard that he has "the most complicated defensive schemes in the NFL" time and time again. That's all well and good, but it sounds to me like Jerry Jones hired Kim Ung Yong to teach a room full of special ed students and will get a proper coaching strategy to suit his players instead of getting a whole new defense.


But what the fuck do I know. I can't wait for hockey to get started so I can stay out of these damn Cowboys threads.

Even still, 31st to 19th in what basically amounted to half a season or so, what more did Jerry want? Yeah, this is Ryan's second season. His first season, due to cap issues, was allowed to sign Coleman and Elam. That was it. Neither were notable. And the defense was in terrible shape when he took over. Then account for seven starters missing give or take half a season, and I think he did a great job. The fact that they ended up 19th is crazy, IMO. With well over half of the starting line up coming off of couches. A few ppl have brought up well, the cowboys went 3-5 with a healthy defense. Which is true. It's a numbers game. Romo turned the ball over, what, 9 times in the first 8 weeks? You give anyone that many chances, they are going to score. It wasn't Ryan's problem that our offense couldn't find the end zone. It's ridiculous.
