If the Mavs can land Carmelo (which I think they have a punchers chance), Lebron (highly unlikely), or Luol Deng (very possible if Carmelo doesn't happen), then the Mavs will be pretty salty next year. I'd also like to see them bring back Blair and Carter for minimum salaries.

    Totally agree with you!

Yea I was reading about gassol, but hes going to want more than the mavs will offer him. I wanna see the mavs get Bledsoe
Agreed. As much as I enjoyed the Mavs sweeping them back in 2011, I'd like to see Kobe relevant a little longer.

I think Kupchak has done a terrible job with the Lakers since the passing of Dr. Buss and he's probably turning in his grave right now. I honestly feel that Donnie Nelson has done a better job (not that it's been great either) than Kupchak.

That being said, you never know what some players might do to enjoy another year of two on a team that might give him an opportunity to win another ring. I'm not saying the Mavs can do it but nobody thought they would back in 2011 either. Anyway I'm rambling now and gotta get back to work.

He had some good stats last year but I know he broke down towards the end of the season. At least he's on the top ten on the list you shared and is as realistic a free agent that might come to the Mavs than anyone else there. If D'Antoni was still coaching the Lakers I could see Gassol bolting for anywhere else as he didn't fit in with his system. No telling what's going to happen with the Lakers this off season.

I am just concerned about not having a real point guard, small forward, and age.

I think it was a great trade for Dallas. Chandler was an integral part of our Championship winning team. Again, I like this move. I hope we keep aggressive and put some feelers out there for some of these other FA's that can bring us the depth we've been lacking.

I sort of like the deal but yet I'm amused with the Mavs and their pickups over the years. They keep resigning players we dropped over the years when they shouldn't have dropped them in the first place. Mavs still need to pickup at least one solid player that's not too past their prime. Rudy Gay or Kyle Lowry wouldn't be bad options in my opinion.

Just got around to posting on here. I heard about the trade this afternoon when I got an alert from the ESPN app and listened to allot of discussions on sports radio on the way home this afternoon.

I hate to lose Calderon because I thought he did pretty good running the offense and was a descent offensive threat. But he was a defensive liability even compared to a 38-39 year old Jason Kidd who had good spurts of defense. I think this is a good deal as long as we can either resign other guys around this unit such as Devin, the Matrix, and Vince Carter. I think these guys are still relevant as long as they are willing to sign for something reasonable so we still have money to maybe attract another good free agent or two.

I haven't checked but what's the status of DeJuan Blair and Brandon Wright's contract? They are key players IMO for next season.

I like the deal. Hopefully Felton can produce. Chandler Dirk and Monta should be a nice trio on the court. I hope Monta is as good or better than he was last year.
