At this point, I don't know exactly how many acres are up, nor the price per acre. My guess is 40-60 acres, and no clue on price. We have 260 acres in the family, and I heard in passing that an aunt and cousin want to sell their portion. I intend to buy them so that it can remain in the family.


Land loans are harder to get than house loans, and I don't need any unexplainable (in the bank's eyes) cash withdrawals or deposits until financing is secured.
