This was by far one of the shittiest things to happen to MMA. Bellator and these freakish fights that we all know are fixed is just working at destroying any legitimacy the sport has. Scott Coker should be drawn and quartered for this shit. Stop trying to be the fucking McMahon of mma.

I'm guessing he thinks any press is good press, and is trying to bank on the name power of the over the hill fighters he's signing.Originally posted by Magnus View PostBellator and these freakish fights that we all know are fixed is just working at destroying any legitimacy the sport has.

Allegedly, Dada5000 was admitted to the hospital in critical condition yesterday. His heart stopped. That being said, that was the biggest shit show I've ever seen. They aired that fucking debacle and then didn't air Justin Wren's fight. Bellator needs to get their shit together and stop relying on freak show fights to pull numbers.

They wont stop putting together freak show fights when it pulls ratings, especially since fighters like Wren do not stand out and never will. Their business model works, even if some viewers don't like it, they still end up watching it.
SC isnt stupid, he is trying to get his young and new talent to step up their game by getting them viewers, but they end up putting on boring ass fights. There was 18 fights on the card and I only remember 1 that wasn't on the main card. MMA is a business first and a meritocracy second, hopefully one day more fighters will realize that.

He had to drop about 50 pounds for this fight and had too much potassium in his system because of it. This lead to heart failure, they had to restart his heart in the ambulance and had him on a ventilator all night.Originally posted by lowthreeohz View PostAlso, reports I've read say Dada5000 was admitted for renal problems and dehydration.

Dhafir “Dada 5000”Harris was seen getting oxygen following his grueling fight against Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson on Friday at Bellator 149. As it turns out, his troubles only worsened from there. According to a statement sent by Bellator and attributed…
You're right tho, just conflicting reports being spread.

by that reasoning k1 and pride would still be in existence. That's some out there reasoning. Sounds like you don't know why pride failed. K1 is a different sport and that sport has never been big in the states.Originally posted by John -- '02 HAWK View Postby that reasoning k1 and pride would still be in existence. Kimbo vs Shamrock pulled something like 2.1 million viewers. I have a feeling this card pulled similar numbers. Their business model is working from a dollars perspective. Don't like it, don't watch it. I agree that it was a blah card, but it is absolutely up to the fighters to make it good or not, the promotion can only put it together. Bellators talent that is fun to watch is just to thin.
You can listen to Jimmy Smith tell you exactly what I said about 30 minutes in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tGk_tGSEoo
Friday night's Bellator show featuring Royce Gracie, Ken Shamrock and Kimbo Slice drew an average of 1,964,000 viewers over the three hours, beating the company's all-time record by 24 percent.
The prior record was set on June 19, by the Shamrock vs. Slice match, which averaged 1,580,000 viewers, peaking with 2.3 million viewers live for the main event. To put that in perspective, TJ vs. Cruz for bantamweight title did 2,288,000 and didn't come close to that 1.964m average rating. Bellator is doing right even if you do not understand it.The Slice vs. Dada fight from 11:16 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. drew 2.5 million viewers, while Shamrock vs. Gracie from 11:54 p.m. to 11:57 p.m. drew 2.4 million viewers.Last edited by abecx; 02-22-2016, 08:38 PM.
