He wasnt just talking about one incident, maybe you took a hit too during the game? Dropping a chip and hitting your head on the coffee table is always a rough one.

There was more than just Ryan Shazier fucking up his back.

    Smith-Schuster hit wasn't needed.
    George Iloka hit wasn't needed.

And yes, I do find it wonderful because it gets people talking.

Everyone loves a good hit stick on Madden though.

Aikman speaking up is wonderful and as a player that suffers from the effects and has seen others I value his opinon. Yes it is a risk that the players take, but why should he have to shut up about it. I would prefer if more players talked honestly so things can get solved or diagnosed. The more data the better and the NFL can easily foot the bill which the research could help the entire planet medically progress.

I dont see the point in telling people to toughen up or dont bitch about it, that solves absolutely nothing.

I believe the significant amount of damage is caused from the whiplash effect more so than the head on impact. You would need a way to absorb the momentum travelling through the spine.

    BUT DID THEY DIE???
It seems many of the changes didn't come until after Sr. died, which is a travesty. It's as if all other lives recently lost prior to that mean nothing compared. The Hans device had been around long before yet supposedly wasn't a requirement until after Sr's death.
Back injuries in the NFL seem to be pretty rare and in the case of the latest casualty, which looked like nothing more than a freak accident, yet there's Aikman never missing an opportunity to get on his rickety soap box and complain.
PS- After I've seen Kyle Busch/PeeWee Herman looking sack of shit putting people in the wall (one of them head on) I have no pity for him being out for any length of time. Fuck him.

I'm all for it. I don't hear Aikman making suggestions on anything. Maybe it's being done when there's no mic in front of him, but all I've ever heard is his knee jerk reaction, and this latest "this game is hard to watch" over an injury that most likely could not have been avoided regardless of what padding was were is a little over the top.

There is a difference between making a hard hit against a Receiver so that way he doesn't catch the ball. When it's clearly a hit towards the body. Just sometimes the defender doesn't expect the receiver's body to change a different direction.

It's another when a defender is clearly going in head first and going towards the helmet area. Im sorry but I didn't feel bad about Ju Ju laying out Brufitt last night. He's a dirty player and has a reputation of that and it's players like him that need to go.

One of the guys that handles the appeal's is Derrick Brooks. One of the best form tacklers in his day who also hit hard but not over the top.

So NASCAR isn't 100 percent safe, but a lot safer than it was 10 to 15 years ago thanks to the safer wall and the car itself compared to lets say the car that Earnhardt was in at Daytona in 2001.

    Let me get this straight...

It's acceptable for you to piss and moan about a commentator

But it's not acceptable for said commentator to voice his public opinion about the health and safety of the athletes?

Your mental fragility is more important than the players safety?

I got it when he started his tirades years ago. Is he a spokesperson for injuries suffered while playing in the NFL? That would make a whole lot more sense.

I get where he is coming from though, don't you?

And I haven't noticed him bitching about injuries a whole lot, maybe I tune it out?
