I saw the commercial Tuesday night and was thinking man..... what are the chances of that happening. I'm in school last night and a buddy texts me telling me what happened. I just laughed.

Josh Hamilton's slam triggers carpet deal

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton's grand slam Wednesday caused quite a stir for folks who had seen a local flooring company commercial on television in recent weeks.

    More on the Rangers

Richard Durrett and the ESPNDallas.com team have the inside scoop on the Rangers, the American League and Major League Baseball. Blog | ESPN Dallas

The CC Carpet website was down and the phone number busy shortly after Hamilton hit his third career grand slam -- and first since 2008 -- in the fourth inning against the Cleveland Indians.

In the commercial, the company's owner says that if Hamilton hits a grand slam, anyone who purchased flooring or counter tops in September would get a refund.

The company issued an explanation of the Grand Slam Payout, which said anyone who purchased flooring or counter tops starting Aug. 29 would get a refund if Hamilton hit a bases-loaded home run during the promotion period, which was to run until Sept. 28 or as soon as Hamilton hit a grand slam.

The commercial features CC Carpet owner Steve Fitzgerald and daughter Morgan, who says after her dad explains the promotion, "Dad, are you crazy?"

Fitzgerald could not be reached for comment Wednesday night.

There was no word on how many folks took advantage of the opportunity and cheered free flooring or counter tops when Hamilton's grand slam sailed over the left-center field wall.

Are you saying there were lots of empty seats? If so, it was a tuesday and a school night. Not summer anymore
