Man, Beltre made a hell of a play in the 8th inning on a smash by Milton Bradley and then Moreland made a helluva play to scoop up that throw. Nice 7-3 win by Texas. Time to go on the road now for 3 series. Let's see how we play away from the Ballpark this year.

Would be fucking amazing if it did happen though lol. I predict about the same record as they had last year. Anywhere from 85-77 to 100-62 sounds about right.

I really like the guy, and I took a lot of grief on this board for wanting him over Chris Davis. I had no idea he'd be in RF some.

I don't remember anybody getting any grief for wanting Chris Davis gone? I don't remember anybody wanting him to stick around.

There were several (who we won't hear from) before we switched boards. As a matter of fact, there were some comments made in the last few days because he was on a minor league tear...again.

I'm not ashamed/afraid to say I wanted Crash Davis to stick around. I figured he might be a late bloomer like Cruz. I've said that on this board as well. Something just comes together and it all of a sudden clicks. Davis is a talent, but it's not his time now. After the end of last season and with what I saw in the playoffs, I'm not afraid to say I'm a Moreland fan either. He deserves 1st base for the way he played. It's his position to lose.

Davis was doomed when they started drawing parallels to Crash Davis, a career minor-leaguer that held the record for most minor league homeruns.

Davis can't turn around on a big league fastball. I've had AA tickets in Frisco for many years. I've seen most of this current crop come through. To catch up to the big league fastball, Davis has to guess and start early. They know that at the show, so they drill him inside and then roll a wrinkle at him to watch him screw himself into the ground.

It'll never "click" for him -- he just can't do it. His hands are too slow at the plate. He can absolutely murder 3A pitching though. Even there, he'll still struggle against a guy that fires darts inside.

Moreland on the other hand can flat out play.
