Giving them to the ex wife. They were an anniversary gift from her several years back. And she doesn't have any good knives. So I figured I'd not be a dickhead for once.

Too light can be an issue. You want a knife with some weight behind it, and balance. I would never recommend buying a set of knives without holding them first. I don't know where those specifically are sold, but Bed, Bath, and Beyond, as well as any department store should have a decent selection. That way you can get the feel before you order online.

Guy Fieri Knuckle Sandwich Knives are crafted from durable high carbon 7Cr17 steel with a razor edge and precision balanced for less strain.

<---- Ditching my Henckels for a set of Wusthof Ikon Classics. Great feel, more weight in the handle which is what I like, and the blade is more rounded. HIGHLY recommend if you don't care about having a fingerguard on the blade.

I have the German Henkels and have had them for over 10 years. They have been fantastic.

I've got Wusthof Classics in my kitchen and stand by them, no issues. Like Brent said, unless your dropping a fuckton of cash, just go with what is comfortable.

oh and I have a set of calphalon knives myself.
i have the katana series. they were decently rated and made from high carbon damascus steel. it was on amazing sale otherwise i would have bought 3 individual shun blades.
