When you go to a nicer place you are paying for atmosphere as well, and there is nothing wrong with that.
We have not been to this place but we have gotten pretty hooked on Baja Grill over on William D Tate. Reall good ritas and very solid mexican food for a good price.. Last time we went it was about $55 before tip for us, and that included 3 $10 Margaritas and we ordered extra rice and beans to take home!
Their refried beans are excellent. One of my favorite in DFW.
For the cheap-asses like Henry, this may be an option to consider.
Check out our famous margaritas, fajitas, burritos, and more! And taste for yourself why we are the best Mexican restaurant in Grapevine TX!
Now I will wait for Brent to post and say I am all wrong and the place sucks balls.

i refuse to spend that much money on mexican food.
i cooked some street tacos and rice last night that were perfect. Forget $50+ for some tortillas, meat, beans and rice.

Look at it this way, Uncle Julios is about the same pricing as Mi Dia, but Mi Dia is 10000000 times better. You can't compare it to any other mexican food in DFW.

hey man, you got a problem with my cousin Raul?Originally posted by bcoop View PostThen don't fucking go! You obviously don't understand the idea of concepts, target markets, price points, or cuisine. Nor do you understand what a Chef is for, what the benefits are, and why people would rather eat there, than eating lengua tacos made by Raul Pablo Juan Jose that's making $4/hr under the table. Don't get me wrong, each one has it's place. I enjoy dirty fucking street tacos just as much as the next guy. But El Jalisco Taquito Ranchero Poblano isn't even in the same league as a restaurant like MDFS.

I think the point he was making refers to :Originally posted by Rick Modena View PostThan not worth the high price, to me at least. I have a hard time paying big money for mexican food when (as Brent will agree) the ingriedents are cheap, therefore making the food itself affordable. Beans, rice, tortillas, ground beef, chicken, etc. very inexpensive.
You should be able to go a mexican (tex-mex) and get served a big plate of food for under $10.00 a plate in my opinion.

A few places left here, but in San Antonio and Corpus, you eat great food for well under $10.00 and come out stuffed.

Would you call getting less than a full plate for $10 a lean cuisine?Originally posted by Rick Modena View PostThan not worth the high price, to me at least. I remember it being really hot. My cousin loved that place and thought it was crazy hot too and he loved hot stuff. I only ate breakfast though. He ate the menudo.Originally posted by Rick Modena View PostTheir salsa is off the hook, I don't know where they get their peppers, but they are fucking hot. I have always wondered why they give you a small ass cup with maybe a few ounces, but after a few dips with chips you know why and you don't need much.
