I was disappointed we had to cancel our trip to Japan last year because we were going to a really good steak house in Tokyo that had kobe steaks.

Wagyu is often referred to as "American Kobe". Japanese cattle (raised in America), better marbling, etc.

Wagyu is not bullshit, and no, it's not cheap. It's not completely absurd, either. You can get a 28oz Wagyu ribeye at the Ranch for $95. Sure, you can look at the price and go "holy shit", but come on now.... It's 28 fucking ounces. It's massive.

Wait a minute! I saw an Iron Chef America epsiode where the key ingredient was American Kobe beef.

So there is a rancher, in America, living near a town called Kobe. Easy fix.

Genuine Kobe beef is amazing. I've had it a couple of times, once in Yokohama and once in...get this, Kobe. Rich girlfriend, ftw.

My brother in law is stationed in Japan now and has bragged many times about having had Kobe beef... He definitely describes it as the best beef he has ever eaten.

I also liked how the author mentions that Kobe must be a bull or virgin cow. I seriously doubt the are serving bull, and people are liking it. I bet the author should take an Ag class and learn the difference between a bull and a steer.

The rest was informative, but it seems like I've heard that before, but would never pay that for a steak, so I don't care.
