  • Beer can chicken!

Where can I buy the stand? Some friends of mine did three chickens last weekend and now I want to do one for the Super Bowl along with some ribs. Any ideas?? Also any recommendations on a rub to apply?

Also, you don't really need a stand. Just position the beer can on the grate in a stable place.

Yea academy, walmart, etc. You don't really have to have the stand though. Before I got the stand, I really didn't have that much trouble keeping it standing up.

Look up how to do a basic brine on a chicken.

Even grocery stores have them now. Try to get one with the built in (under) catch tray. They have a smaller footprint and gets the bird done faster. I sometimes inject mine with Italian dressing or use Dr Pepper instead of beer.

Cool! Thanks for the info. I'll look for a stand but if I don't find one I'll try without. And I'll give the brine a try, never really did one that way before. Any suggestions for a rub? Or do a do a rub with the brine?

On a grill that'd be easy, in my smoker not so easy.

I use it on my smoker too. You must have some wide grate gap.
