You should go there at least once. It's been 15 years since Ive been, but the food was good back then, and they dont have menus. The waitstaff goes over verbally what your choices will be of what they are serving that day.Originally posted by BP View PostI've been to Antoine's in NOLA and didn't realize the Texas one was in Salado, literally 5 minutes from my place in Temple."If I asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." - Henry Ford

I have gone to the Wine Sellers store there and figured out a pretty cool deal, assuming you like wine. To ship wine into Texas it has to go through a local distributor and if for whatever reason it can't be delivered to the end user it goes back to said distributor and they can do whatever they want with it. The store in Salado handles pretty much all of that business for the CenTex region so that little winery gets hundreds of cases of wine for free every year and they sell them cheap. If you buy 10 bottles it's $8 each for anything they have.

I'm not a wine scholar by any means but all of the bottles I've picked up there retail for at least $20 and one was over $40.

It's a 1958 Dodge Mayfair, aka a 'Plodge', built from a combination of Plymouth and Dodge body parts and a Dodge chassis for the Canadian market.Originally posted by talisman View PostFor those of you who enjoy both dining and travel, thought this was interesting.
