I'll show up wherever, but to say Sonic is more of a "car gtg" is a stretch, and there are a few reasons why Sonic is so hit or miss. Again, these are just talking points and something to think about.

*We talk about the same shit at Flip's, with better food and scenery. At Sonic you might get up once for about 2-3 minutes and go look at a car, then go right back to your seat, or leave.

*It's pretty much always going to be the same folks showing up, so everyone knows everyone else's cars. Other than Clint, and Phil 3 times, no one drives out of their way to attend these. There's only so much you can say about your car week in and week out, and only so much that can change in a week that everyone would flock to your car to check out. This is one of the main reasons Sonic is so hit or miss.

*The other main factor that Sonic is so hit or miss is the weather. If it's too hot, no one shows up (or we bump it back to 8:30-9 start time and that keeps a lot of people away). If it's too cold, no one shows up. If it's too windy, no one shows up. Rainy, no one shows up. If there's a CHANCE of rain, not many people show up. So basically, you have to have fairly decent weather for people to show up. If you don't, it gets down to 2 or 3 members showing up regularly, then getting disgruntled because no one else shows up, and then no one shows up. The meets eventually get reinstated months later at a different Sonic, and the cycle continues (6100 block Sonic, Basswood Sonic, 8600 block Sonic). Oh, or we get kicked out because idiots we don't even know come rolling through there looking to street race or attempt to impress us with aggressive shows of mashing their throttle to the floor.

Anywho, I'll show up wherever, that's just something to think about. We might move to Sonic, but the meet will either die down in the coming extreme heat, or people will be saying "let's go back to Flip's and sit inside." I'm all for what makes the majority happy. If that's going to Sonic for a few months, then somewhere indoors, that's great. If it's going to Flip's, and every first Tuesday of the month, going to Sonic to "look at cars," then by all means, let's do that. Just my 20 cents.

Sadly flips or the shit hole redneck heaven was more of a member gtg. We will eventually move it to the sonic at beach and n Tarrant. Never busy, popo don't care, and ur able to see ur car from ur seat. Flips is good times but I like the car gtg. Plus, I'm not tempted to buy food other then a shake or ice cream!
