Subscribing- need to get my ass back on the saddle, I've been off of it for a year due to 65/70 hr weeks and travel (excuse).

If the weather holds out - I plan on doing this ride :

11/2 Farmersville, TX USA Cycling Permit # 2013-38330

Ride the NETT is a unique adventure ride utilizing the Northeast Texas Trail as well as a network of dirt and country roads for the longer routes. The NETT is a converted railway line which is still very rugged along much of it’s path. Mileage and routes may change at promoters discretion based on weather, trail and road conditions or as warranted for safety purposes.

Either mountain bikes or CX bikes would be appropriate but we do not recommend road bikes at all. We offer numerous route lengths for most skill levels. Registration is online only @ https://www.bikereg.com/net/ride-the-nett which closes 8pm 11/1.

There's two of us going so far. Would be cool to get a few others too.

We are going to stick with the "Kiddie" one - 27 miles. The next step up is a 50 mile.

Kiddie Train – Farmersville to Celeste and Back (all NETT) 27 miles round trip

Ride will start with a full group parade lap through downtown Farmersville and up main street with a police escort out of town. The group will pick up the trail a few miles outside of town allowing riders to spread out a bit before getting on the trail. The first 8 miles of this route will primarily be pavement and crushed stone trail. Once into Hunt County the trail becomes double track and a bit rugged. Please do recognize that mountain bike skills are needed for this ride even though labeled as the “Kiddie Train”.

This route will be entirely out and back on the NETT except for the parade out of town. This group will turn around at Celeste. No riders will leave Celeste until the sweep time verifies that the last Northbound rider has reached the Celeste turn around. The trail is too narrow in parts for two way traffic. There is a gas station/convenience store in Celeste.

I've only ridden RCP and Harry Moss Park so I can't really compare it to much. I like it because it is varied and the way the loops are done it allows you to pick and choose difficulty and features. It's most flat with some short, steep drops and climbs and a few creek crossings. Loop 13 is really rocky but most of the other loops are just dirt and roots.

I ride River Legacy or Big Cedar every Sunday morning.

How is RCP compared to those 2?

I see its many ppls favorite, so it has a flow to it bit not as flat as RL? Just guessing at this point though. If one of you guys have ridden all 3 please share some insight.

Sweet. I'm in at least every other Sat/Sun for early morning, starting next week.

I'm in for after work, but I have to pickup my kids by 5:45-6 so would need to start early 4pm-4:15pm for those days.

Riding last Friday the track was still reversed, the weather was so nice at dusk! I'm not the fastest, i rode the South side (i think completely) in 35 then 30 minutes.

(Edit - For anyone interested in RCP: A co-worker who rides a lot and I are in for 4-4:15pm this coming Monday (9/16/13)) - I'll be in a Black Camaro. We are going to try and make this a regular time(Monday evenings) at least through September.

We plan on riding the the whole thing, but skipping some of the larger obstacles until I get by bearings back.

I finally put a hitch on my camaro and can tote my old bike around now..

I live down the road and went out there this last Friday. It's been quite a while since I've been so I'm getting back into it slowly..

I rode the right side twice into the night and my cheapo headlamp was barely bright enough to light a small spot in front of me..

Im gonna ride RCP Monday evening & Wednesday evening. I haven't rode there in over a year until yesterday I slapped some fresh Small block 8 tires on and SWEET JESUS it makes a huge difference over the s-works tires. It handled like it was on rails @ 33psi. I only explored loop 1, 2, & 3. I would like to pace someone in the more technical sections with someone who has previously been through them to get an idea of how fast I shouldn't be going.

i'm riding 4-5 times a week but I'm slowish compared to Marc. If anyone wants to join, I normally ride northshore, OCNP or RCP.
