Why do nonbelievers...

The only people that knock on my door are teenagers selling magazine subscriptions to "keep kids out of gangs or off drugs" or so they can supposedly win some kind of trip, Oh, and they don't do so anywhere close to "a few times a week", LOL

The only "harassment" as you call it that I get while walking by is from Girl Scouts selling cookies outside of grocery stores. That's some big harassment I must say....

Religion, Jesus, and church camps strangely enough never once get mentioned.

I was actually thinking along those lines too.

Take so much time to try to prove their point? They always claim religious people cram our beliefs down their throat... but I feel as if it is the opposite.

Hey Dave, I don't recall having used the word macerated before....I had to look that one up

The prevailing view of many non-believers in my experience is that people only turn to God when things are going terribly wrong in their lives. I am completely the opposite of that - I turn to God daily and thank Him for the good things in my life and for the fact that I realy want for nothing.

I was actually thinking along those lines too.

The few times a year that people do come to my door to talk about their faith, I simply thank them and let them know that I am already studying and learning the Word of God.

Last week I did find an issue of "Watchtower" left on my windshield in a parking lot in Arlington....first time this year.

I am at a similar point in life as you and I do not thank him daily. But I agree with your first point.

Because many non-believers need to convince themselves that they are in control of the world they live in, often by assuming and arguing that all of the universe must be limited to what can be quantified and explained in human terms. It is a futile pursuit, because no true (Christian in my case) believer is or will be swayed to accept human-imposed limitations on God or His Creation.

Its is true on both sides of the fence.
