Well, because they weren't creating dollars out of thin air to represent the gold and introducing those dollars into the system to be used. I have always wondered exactly what the hell they were thinking when they decided to just sit on that gold.Originally posted by racrguyWhat's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?Originally posted by racrguyVoting is a constitutional right, overthrowing the government isn't.

I think they did so to drive the price of gold up and trade it off with other central banks and countries.Originally posted by Broncojohnny View PostWell, because they weren't creating dollars out of thin air to represent the gold and introducing those dollars into the system to be used. As long as the populace continues to sit on their hands and refuse to exercise their right to vote we will continue to have politics as usual.

2000 54.2%

In my opinion we need more than two parties to represent the people. As long as we have just two parties, we will continue to have deadlock in the House of Representatives and the Senate.
I say that we vote out all incumbents that have been in office more than two terms. Maybe than the cronyism will stop and the politicians will take the American public serious and not just pass bills that benefit them or the corporations or Political Action Committees (biggest mistake the Supreme Court has ever made) that contribute to the campaign. And than we could possibly get a bill for term limits like the President has.1991 Mustang GT - 127,000 miles, original owner

One term only. No one wants to get re-elected if they can only serve one term. You go to Washington, you do your term, you come home. No more career politicians.Originally posted by MrGT5oh View PostAs long as the populace continues to sit on their hands and refuse to exercise their right to vote we will continue to have politics as usual.

Agree completely. When you have career politicians, they end up making decisions that are in the best interest of their careers, not their constituents.Originally posted by Broncojohnny View PostOne term only.
