Ah, another person who failed to read the links I posted. If you had, you'd have seen that only about 10% of the 47% not paying federal income taxes are paying zero taxes and taking welfare checks. The other 37% are middle class (~$50k/yr) families that don't pay the federal income tax due to tax credits. They still pay other federal taxes as well as state and local taxes.
So what you're saying Durantula is that it's fine not to pay federal income tax because you make up for it in other places so in fact, those paying 90% of the federal tax burden should not pay more because they already pay other taxes

Yes you are. You know exactly what he meant because you even knew the percentage number he was alluding to. The problem is that we ALL know you're just trying to get under his skin. Even you. Again... It makes you look childish to play that stupid elementary school teacher role of, "well he should have been totally clear next time".

That elementary school teacher was a fat smug bitch then, just like she is now.

... And I read your link. Yes they paid in on federal income tax on their withholdings up front, but they GET IT ALL BACK WITH THEIR TAX RETURN. Seriously, this game has really gotten old. The reality is that at EOY tax time the 47% get back what they've paid. I don't give a blue fuck if they paid $1,000 a month in taxes, because when my government spends trillions of fucking dollars, THE 47% THAT GET FULLY REFUNDED DON'T FUCKING COUNT.

      Simple as that.

Thank you Don. I was wondering if it was not me explaining things well or he's a fucktard.

It is easier to make up fiction about how higher taxes would mean we are better off. Just like magic!

What subsidies? Define subsidies. You mean allowing companies that earn their money to keep it?

I'm fine with that but realize the nonsense about subsidies are just the lefties distracting everyone from the real issue. The oil companies get $62 billion if I remember correctly. Hey let's argue about the dimes we find in the couch. We have a $1.4 TRILLION deficit.

The problem here is spending. I love how the leftist morons always assume the spending is a constant and the only thing we can do is raise taxes to accomodate it. The spending is the part that has to be fixed, not revenue raising, not subsidies, not any other red herring the White House wants to come up with to try to distract the sheeple.

What kills me is that our deficit is such that, let's say we cut spending and tax the fucking taste out of everyone's mouth... and that we reach a point where tax revenues exceed expenditures... How long do we pay just to cover the interest?

Al, do you happen to have the ability to chart out how much money it would take to pay off our debt in 20 years?

Do you realize if they raise revenue from taxes, they'll justify more spending?

We need to cut, and cut the fuck out of the bullshit we can live without; like all those damn regulatory departments.

                      • A wise man once told me...

"If you keep raising taxes on the rich, they'll take their money elsewhere. They didn't get rich by being stupid."

Cut all spending before we turn our almighty dollar into dust.

Well the debt is $14.5 trillion so to pay it off in 20 years you need a $725 billion surplus after debt service and all of that has to go to pay off the national debt. Good luck ever getting that, you have clowns like Durantula who can't even start to entertain the idea of cutting spending, much less preserve a surplus. The morons in congress love to cater to these fucking idiots and fund any cause they come up with just to try to grab a vote.

                          • Did the OP say this when O-bum-uh was playing a game with healthcare? This is so stupid. As if cutting taxes is going to make things worse instead of better. And raising them is going to make things better instead of worse. Has this guy ever even seen a dollar bill? Perhaps if he could lay eyes on one, he could get a better understanding.

I know its only $62 billion, but its still a spending cut, and a step in the right direction. but there are more then just oil subsidies, ethanol subsidies ($5 Billion), Farm Subsidies ($20 Billion).

No, it's not a step in the right direction! Jeez, I thought for sure everyone on both sides of this debate would have cried foul when the actual numbers were figured. Do you understand that if this happens, not much more is going to be done for a while since they are going to be too busy patting themselves on the back until there is another (faster) ceiling breached?

This doesn't even come close to fixing anything. It's like putting a band-aid on a severed artery. Ya, you did something, but you're still going to bleed out. This proves nothing more than to know our politicians can't and won't do what really needs to be done to turn this train around.

Why the FUCK are you people still holding faith in this government?!?!
