While you make some points here, they are completely different in one important area, their view on how government should interact with business. Obama is a regulator, Bush was more hands off. Clinton was hands off as well. Just as the article says, every time Obama opens his mouth the business environment gets more uncertain.

I'm not saying he created the mess. The dot com bubble burst, then 9/11 happened further tanking the economy. However, He did increase gov't spending 100% and the national debt that took ~200 years to accumulate doubled during his administration. Combined with a loose monetary policy by the fed, years worth of revolving doors between finance & the SEC, expanding a housing program of failure that dated back to the Carter admin, and many other things led to the crash of 2008

It's really weird to me. People who hated GWB love Obama. People who loved GWB hate Obama. Politically they are almost the damn same.

Did Obama inherit the worst economy in the US since the Great Depression? Yes. What did he do? Increase spending and continue tax cuts...the exact same thing that helped get us here in the first place. LOL Maybe the FED can lower interest rates once again, create a false bubble, then when the inevitable bursting takes place we can be in an even worse position, grapes of wrath, fuck yeah!

Obama ran on ending the wars and bringing troops home. Instead he increased our presence in Afghanistan (call it the surge 2.0) and of course we are still in Iraq.

He also ran on repealing the Patriot Act, but instead he signed it into law again when it expired.

He also was going to close Guantanimo Bay, but of course that never happened.

He wanted to end the Bush-tax cuts, but extended those too.

He used taxpayer money in attempts to stimulate the economy and gave big business bailouts like the Bush admin.

He had a fucked up delayed reaction to a natural disaster.

All he has to do now is create two new federal bureaucracies and recite a bunch of jibberish in public and he is Dubya.

Clinton did well because we had an economic boom that was a result of Reagan's policies and Clinton was smart enough not to fuck it up to much.
