It provides a convenient and effective tool for a secular leader to use to rally supporters behind his quest for power. Christians have figured out however that the dictates of secular leadership in world governments today are not of primary importance in how they should live their lives.

Ahh, cool. I still think there are several denominations of Christianity that need to be revamped. Thankfully, they are nowhere as bad as this whole Islam crap. It's the bastardization of beliefs that really pull the extremists out of the wood works. If they didn't have a religion to blame it on, they'd find another reason to hate and kill. I've seen plenty of little terrorists who openly condemn the actions of their fellow muslims here in DFW and a few "country folk" in Iraq and Jordan. Then again the numbers are no where near equal, but that has more to do with the fact that most Christian's in America only go to church 2x's a year. I view it less as a struggle of religious principles and more of one regions struggle against modernity.

The average "country fuck" I've met in the middle east certainly didn't like most Americans because of what they've been taught, but the most of them didn't give a shit if Saddam was in power, Iraqi congress was in power, or if we were in power. Their life sucks so bad they just wanted to be able to farm in peace.
