Rick Perry has a golden opportunity to destroy "Big Government". He should call a BIG news conference. His statement should be that Texas does not want any help from the feds and will not allow FEMA on site. We do have the Texas Rangers to enforce that. Then state that Texas will at once start pumping and selling oil as we see fit. The goal will be to have $ 1.00 gasoline in Texas within 90 days. The Texas Oil Patch can make that happen. He should tell the feds that if they think they can put someone in jail, then to come and try and to start with him. Next they can try to arrest all the Rough Necks, drillers, switchers and roust a bouts that will be working extended hours. In my opinion when the public sees how $ 1.00 gasoline will open up the economy to massive growth, no one will try to stop him. Retail sales will go through the roof. Walmart will not be able to stock enough work clothes and the makers of hard hats will be covered up. All down the chain money will be flowing like crazy. It will work, and no one will try to stop it. How would you like to try to keep everyone from earning a good living much less try to take his gun.

The feds already denied Perry's request for dozers from Fort Hood. Do they really want to piss off a whole bunch of Texans?

And I'll bet they'd play hell trying to confiscate firearms. This aint New Orleans.

Rest assured they will turn down water, aid, and any other supplies that are being donated to help the affected people of the region. Let's not forget about all the horses that people are scrambling to rescue.

They will start putting people in trailers filled with formaldehyde, and then try and make them dependent on the gov't.

Fucking clowns. I wonder if they're going to go house to house confiscating weapons again.

In an outrageous repeat of Katrina, the federal government has moved into wildfire-stricken Texas and turned away firefighting trained volunteers who had converged on Bastrop and Smithville to combat the out of control flames.

According to The Gonzales Cannon, federal officials arrived at the scene and assumed command of the operation under the pretense “local officials never made a formal request for volunteers.”
