Over almost a 20 year span, that can be said about almost all politicians...and yes, even RP has some pretty monumental flip-flops. I think most of us have changed our views about a lot of things over the course of our lives. It's not an excuse, but pretty much a given, unfortunately.Originally posted by mikec View PostThere are an almost uncountable numbers of flips in that video. Damn.

Oh, completely agreed. Heck, even we as non-politicos have changed our views over the years. I just wonder how many of his changes were money related, i.e. the lobbyists that are part of his campaign, but aren't when he's stumping.Originally posted by Vertnut View PostOver almost a 20 year span, that can be said about almost all politicians...and yes, even RP has some pretty monumental flip-flops. And I'm not necessarily a Paul lover, but I do think he would more closely represent the general populace. In reality, don't really care for any politicians. Especially this Romney cat!

Every election I've voted in since 1984 (Reagan's 2nd term) has been about the lesser of two evils. Every one.Originally posted by mikec View PostOh, completely agreed. It is a shame that you are cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Intelligent people realize that it doesn't matter which candidate an individual in Texas votes for, since TEXAS will be voting for whatever turd the Republican party throws at us.Originally posted by stevo View PostMost intelligent people realize that nearly everything in life is based around compromises.

There is no chance that Romney will be able to beat Obama. It is painfully obvious that the only support he will ever have is the "anyone but Obama" crowd because he himself is a lying sack of garbage with no plans. Well, we already have that today, and he's actually pretty popular with non-whites. Better hope they don't turn out to vote in the eight states that matter. When the government pays, the government controls.

Pray tell, who do you think would beat Barry? Your emotion is overtaking common sense. Based on historical numbers, no POTUS has won with an approval ratring lower than 48%, and that was Bush in '04. With several polls already showing Romney ahead of Barry, it doesn't look that good for the "messiah". The republican party was the common enemy in '08, and no republican had a chance against Obama. As I've said before, we had an "anyone but Carter" election in '80, and the the man won six states and garnered a whopping 49 electoral college votes.Originally posted by 46Tbird View PostIntelligent people realize that it doesn't matter which candidate an individual in Texas votes for, since TEXAS will be voting for whatever turd the Republican party throws at us.

Not my quote, but pretty much sums up the situation:
"It was only a matter of time that all his previous records were jammed down the Memory Hole and the Olympic-level cognitive dissonance took over.
Where once Mitt Romney was the liberalest liberal who ever powered his Prius with aborted babies and burning copies of the Constitution, now, thanks to the Power of Retard we will soon see poorly-executed photoshops of Romney being carried aloft by a smiling Washington and Lincoln on a sedan chair made of Crying Eagles as an F-150 monster truck jumps over the scene with Jesus and Reagan in the back high-fiving while forcing Hilary Clinton's face into a bucket marked "Arab Buttholes."
Meanwhile the guy down the street who has inadvertently aerated his lawn by changing yard signs from Ron Paul to Michelle Bachmann to Sarah Palin to Herman Cain back to Michelle Bachmann to Newt Gingrich to Rick Santorum will, at last, put up his Romney sign and tell everyone he's backed Mitt from day one."

I'm not too enamored with Mitt Romney.
I honestly feel a lot of the good republican candidates sat this one out, afraid of what losing against an undefeatable obama would do to their political careers.
What i find funny is that if they think its bad now, im sure the democratic party has another Obama type figure being groomed just now.
